Welcome news for road users as resurfacing and patching work will commence next week, for one week, from the 25th FEB from 8am to 6pm.
Works are taking place between REED HALL and the Council Recycling Centre. Newtown Road and Leitrim Roads are remaining open.
Roads Service have confirmed today that advance notice for all motorists using this road will be placed strategically on the Warrenpoint Rd and throughout the town, with appropriate diversion signs in place both in Hilltown and Rostrevor.
The proposed road closure has been publicly advertised in local papers as well.
Whilst I welcome the news I do ask, like many of you, why this has not been done sooner? Road users between Hilltown and Rostrevor deserve better.
