After talking to family, friends and the wider community over the past year; I’ve decided to run as an Independent Candidate in the next Local Election on May 2nd.

I left party politics and my friends at Sinn Fein to concentrate on community issues that I’ve always been passionate about, and I really haven’t looked back.

After missing out by one vote in the last local election, a huge amount of people have been asking if I would run again. People feel some matters haven’t been addressed regarding issues within our community and they need a passionate voice….leading me to the decision of running again.

Close to 50 people from every corner of the community want to help with the election campaign. From family and friends to Shedders, GAA members, work colleagues, Community groups and volunteers and yes even a Unicorn Queen.

People want to lend a hand in anyway possible and I’ve been just blown away by the support. If you would like to help with what is going to be a hard fought local election campaign then give me a PM and I’ll get back to you right away.

I’m both prepared and determined to stand up for what is right when it comes to mental health, the development of our children and young people. The impact of Brexit on our community and the big environmental issues in our area.

It’s going to be an extremely tough battle but I want the best for my family, friends and community, but most importantly I want the best for my daughter.

I need to be able to tell her I did not stay silent.
